Those of you with an eagle eye may have noticed I muddled up the last two days! But at least I finished a box each day eh? That is what happens when you are racing against the strike of midnight to finish!
I am making better time today though so here I am with Day 22 The Garden One. A pale papered box with an antique style printed label, perfect for keeping seeds in one day. The inner drawer is lined with a vintage cigarette card and inside are a pair of hand crocheted flower bobby pins, two sprigs of dried heather and a vintage butterfly brooch. Pretty things for a pretty girl. Listed now x
Think I am going to have to change the name of this challenge to, matchbox a night, turns out I’m not so good at juggling two jobs and a blog and a challenge! But here I am in the nick of time with day 21 The Cute One, todays vintage match box is wrapped in a print I made of antique lace, each end is glitter dipped in sparkling gold and the drawer is lined in matching paper.
Hidden under a blanket of vintage lace inside is an itty bitty bear with a silk ribbon bow tie. Listed now xxx

With seconds to spare! Day 20, the Country One, a cheery floral vintage match box tied with ribbon and a silk flower, the inner drawer is painted bright garden green and inside there is a tiny hand crocheted basket and a hook for hanging, perfect for a teeny posy of flowers, a brass Bee shines brightly at the front of the basket and inside is a tiny guide for attracting Honey bees to your garden. Hello Monday people, I hope you had a lovely weekend? We had home cooked food, coffee at the De La Warr, bought lots of new Kilner jars and tidied the larder (no more peg topped bags for us!), some sunny Sunday morning walking, picture taking, a movie and and a huge bowl of honey and pecan popcorn. Now I am well rested and ready for this new week x
I’m always on the look out for new bits and pieces for our home, so when the new Cox and Cox collection alert arrived in my email I was super excited. So many beautiful things in the 2012 collection. Pale shades and delicate details. Here are my favourites for living and entertaining.
Dish, shelves, soap, perfume, candles, zinc pots.
Paper Garland, Rose garland, Surprise ball, Paper balls, Save the date cards, Linen table cloth.
Day 19, the Rose One, the outside is covered in liberty lawn cotton with a pretty floral pattern, tied with bright magenta fabric tape and topped with a shabby silk rose.
Inside the turquoise painted drawer is a tissue and silk ribbon wrapped parcel, which hides a handmade rose and rhinestone pendant on a liberty fabric string.
Thanks for sticking with me! Only 10 days to go now, I am so excited with the next few boxes, and making something each day is such a good feeling. Listed now over at etsy and just wanted to tell you again that all proceeds of these sales will be donated to Charity as fundraising for my Husbands entry to the London marathon this March. See the full post here.
See you Monday! x
Day 18, The Gentlemen’s one, a dapper little matchbox, covered with tea dyed paper, a vintage style label and an illustrated transfer. The drawer is lined with ledger paper and humbug striped ribbon.
Concealed inside are all the things a gentleman should have. A medal, a tiny pair of metal binoculars for ‘bird’ watching, a collection of old cigar labels and a guide to keeping a tidy moustache. Listed over at Etsy now, see you tomorrow, I hope xxx (more…)
Another late night post, aren’t they getting later? Day 17 The Sweet One. Painted in the style of a Laduree, this pale green vintage matchbox is decorated with a gilt leaf emblem and tied with an organza ribbon. Inside the drawer is lined with doilies, grosgrain ribbon and a sprinkle of sugar like glitter. A recipe for coconut and cherry bon bon’s is tied into a neat bundle and a tiny glass jar of organic sugar sprinkles awaits your next culinary endeavour. Happy weekend to you xxx
I know I go on about a simple rustic interior, that is really what I dream of, but all around me, silk flowers bloom, cakes are baked and pretty things just happen. Maybe we need two houses side by side one for each taste and then we can dip in and out of each home as we please. Lottery winnings are definitely required for this latest extravagance.
