ROOM PLANNING AND RUSTIC FEATURES

Hello Wednesday folk, today I am planning more of our home decor, everyday new corners of this house of ours are coming together, (we now have skirting in our bedroom wahooo) it’s a slower process this time and as the place is liveable where the last one was not, there isn’t as much of a rush to get everything done. We do have to live our lives after all!Rustic SourcebookBut although each room is unfinished in reality, design wise – they are almost complete in our heads, so we know where we are headed and can move on and decide on fittings and fixtures elsewhere. The major work will be happening in the kitchen/dining/living room with walls coming down and an extra room being added. We really want this space to be relaxed open and rustic with worn edges so I am on the hunt for old and scruffy looking furniture – a sturdy table and two big cupboards for all our crockery and kitchen equipment (we’ve decided on no wall units so need all the free standing storage we can get!)Rustic SourcebookWe will spend the next few months doing the fun part of scouring local antique and junk shops and also online where I found this rather lovely table and cupboard from FADS. We have also fallen in love with Annie Sloan Chalk paints (more about that later) so could try our hands at adding rustic paint effects on newer or plain wooden furniture. Some great DIY inspiration here on this Pinterest board – love the yellow cupboard! Think neutral, jeska think neutral. Hoping you are having a lovely sunny Wednesday whilst I head back to my search see you soon x

Looking forward to seeing your Kitchen! We’re moving into our new house in January and planning on ripping out the ugly fitted kitchen and replacing it with vintage floor standing cupboards/larders. Love your blog and all your ideas. Emily x
