Handmade Vintage lace and linen DollThanks for all your joy about Great Dixter, it really was a lovely day. Lately I have been sewing again, and once I start it makes me wonder why I avoid it so often, it makes me so happy. This week I finally started to use some of that vintage lace that was so kindly given to me by Liz. A dish full of tiny lavender bags and one little doll have appeared. She is in the final stages now, only really missing a face, but not wanting to ruin her, I wonder if she should stay as she is? Quiet and mysterious. I think I will adjust my template on the next one, making the arms and legs more slender. Now looking forward to the weekend to sew her a sister.Handmade Vintage lace and linen Doll

You avoid sewing! That is one of the prettiest things I have ever seen. I think you should leave her face as it is, simple and elegant just devine.

  4. She is absolutely beautiful! I think you should leave her as she is. Simple, intriguing and free to be whatever personality you want her to be. Did you see the Karine’s Pigamée collection at Bodie and Fou?

Oh I have a long hoped for dream to make dolls.
If they are any where as good as yours I’d be happy.
I love the delicate feet and the linen & lace you used.
I do think a face – something tres simple – would only add to her beauty.
    Love kat x
