SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND xxx

Hi all, are you there? I come bearing a gift to end a not so perfect week, bad back (slowly fixing due to the yoga) and even badder weather but I do hear talk of a heat wave, you have all been my sunshine this week, I love to read your comments and thought about the things I post, I’m sorry I don’t always reply, I know I should, forgive me?

So on to the gift, the Lovely Emma of Sweet william Ceramics has kindly given me one of these sweet pet bowls to give to one of you! Dear William (above) the name sake of Sweet william Ceramics is a gorgeous chap who likes scouting for the biggest sticks and muddiest puddles in Greenwich Park and keeping warm by the Sweet William kiln, I could have done with a kiln myself to stay warm this week!

All you have to do is leave a comment telling me the type of pet you have, their name and for a bit of fun come up with an a short slogan for a sweet william pet bowl, you can see the others available here.

I must say I am quite excited to ‘meet’ all your four legged housemates and will announce the winner next Friday the 1st of July.

My 4-legged friend is Jack, a 100-lb flat-coat retriever. He is rather tall & large for his size, but he does not realize that since he insists on trying to fit in the tiniest of places, including my mother’s pug’s little beds. If Jack were to pick a slogan for a dog bowl, it would likely say “more please” or “always hungry”. Jack never misses a meal; it’s a good trick to keep him fit.

I have a six-toed, runt, brown tabby named Mitzy….However my husband insists her legal name is Mittenz the Kittenz.

  3. Anna says:

HA I have so many animals! 3 cats, including a 20 pound one, and two black ones, and two puppies, who are no longer puppies but more 14 and turning 17 in August! They’re both Shih Tzu’s! :)

  4. Jane says:

I have a 12 yr old, black and tan jack russell called Holly! Who is VERY vocal and demanding about everything! So, I think my bowl slogan would be ‘show me the food!’

  5. I … no, I mean my two Birman boys have me, … they were born on Valentines Day and so are named after romantic heroes – Mr Darcy and Mr Bingley from Pride and Prejudice. Our bowl name would be: ‘A meow massages the heart’ xx

  6. Suzy says:

I have three cats and one dog–all rescues or strays who came to us in some way. A big black male cat named Minou (a master hunter), an obese male tabby named Isadore (Izzy–he came to us as “Isabelle”), a tiny grey female, three-legged (was hit by a car) kitty named Smudge who keeps ripping through (metal) screens to escape outside. Last but not least, we have a very docile, sweet, happy Lab-Pitbull (brown-grey) mix named Misty who is 15, just about deaf, and sleeps with my husband and me each night. I’m not great with slogans, but what about something like “cutlery is for sissies”?

My is fur child, Willie Gunn, is a Scottish Terrier. He is variously known as Scotzilla, Wild Willie the Weekend Warrior, and Sweet Boy…all of these fit him perfectly. I planted a small bed of Sweet Williams the weekend he came home with us 10 years ago. He is coming to that age where every little bump is scary and every conversation we have all that much more fun. I think Sweet Willie is a fabulous name for this charming, funny line.

I have a 5 year old mini Dachshund called Frank, if he had a bowl it would say ‘I LOVE HOTDOGS’

  9. Sue says:

    How cute are those bowls?!
I have two kittens although not so much kittens now – age 10 and 11. Sasha, the princess, who was the spitting image of one of your tigers when she was young and Caffrey, my little grey boy, named after the beer!
I think my slogan would have to be ‘cat food again….where’s the tuna?’ that’s what their look seems to say sometimes when I feed them.

  10. Cassandra says:

We have – Lily (le Ping) and Australian Terrier and Darcy – a chocolate labrador puppy. One is smart, one – not so much……….. If they could talk one would say to the other ‘This is my blue steel!’ and the other would say ‘idiot’……….

    who would be without them!

  11. Paula says:

Our dog is Oscar, an 8 year old basset hound, complete with long velvety ears and a massive appetite ! He will eat anything and everything. Our slogan would have to be something like ‘Pedigree Tum’ or ‘It’s a dog’s dinner’ as he is a very messy eater.

  12. I have a Hound, of indeterminable age. He is quite the celebrity.

Slogan: Put my food in a nice bowl or I’ll eat the cat.

I shall never introduce The Hound to the tiny tigers.

We have three Tabby’s, two gray and black stripey’s named “Clark” and” Not-Clark”(they looked just like each other as kittens except one had a little Clark Gable moustache and one didn’t so it was”Is that Clark? Oh no that’s not Clark” and the names stuck that way) And we have one lovely patterned Tabby named Mercutio. They are the Queens of Everything and their special bowl would read “WHY AM I WAITING” Good luck to everyone, especially our paws and claws!

  14. We have a world travelling cat named Zelda. We rescued Miss Priss about six years ago from a shelter in the States. She then moved with us to Germany for a few years and then to NE England where we now live. Her favourite pastimes are eating, sleeping and eating. Did I mention eating? She’s also quite talkative, meowing loudly at anything and everything.

Slogan: Pork Pie (her nickname on account of her love of eating)

  15. Helen says:

I have an excessively spoilt whippet with a rather over inflated sense of entitlement when it comes to food. My slogan for him would be – WHIPPET WITH ATTITUDE.

  16. Pauline says:

We have a cat called Tiger. He’s a Maine Coon with 3 legs and no teeth; he had an argument with a car when he was a kitten. He’s the loudest cat you’ll ever meet and also the most tolerant too. He has spent the last 4 years being carted around by our nearly 5-year daughter, or dragged across the floor by his tail yet still he goes back for more and curls up in bed with her at night until she’s fast asleep. He deserves a lovely bowl of his own after all that he’s endured. My slogan for the bowl would be ‘feed me or I shall yell more loudly than you could possibly imagine underneath your bedroom window at 5am’

  17. Hi Jeska! I have a 1 year old cat called Elffie, he’s a little tiger like yours, but with lighter fur and white belly. He is really sweet, smart and playful, he loves to run like crazy behind a small wooden ball, and to have long sun baths. And, of course, he loves to eat (specially what he is not allowed to!). So, I guess my slogan would be “GIVE ME A NICE BOWL AND I WON’T EAT FROM YOURS” ;)
    Thank you for the opportunity!
