I would just like to say thanks to you all, for you continued support even though now you know I am cheating on cake with cheese (grin). Thursday already and it seems like I have been taking forever to post this morning. But here we are and now I am going to get out into the sunshine and go blossom hunting in the park. It looked ready to bloom a couple of days ago so should be there by now.I have been trying to find sweet things to make as gifts and have seen cake pops but as I am a one woman ambassador of marshmallows I love these. I saw them over at Savoury Sweet Life along with a lovely post dedication, and just changed the toppings. Even the husband likes these and he is a mallow hater! They are great for summer fete’s or children’s party favours. I like the traditional idea of white chocolate and pink sparkles for little girls and for boys milk chocolate and blue sprinkles, and some topped with wafer roses and sugar gems for big kids. Next I will make some mallows from scratch then I can cut all different shapes, I can feel a Cher moment from Mermaids coming on. Ready for another batch?
You will need
Melted chocolate dark, milk, white or all!
Any other toppings, wafer roses, sugar flowers, cherries etc
Melt a couple of squares of chocolate in an egg cup (I microwaved for 10 second intervals) and dip one end of each lollipop stick in the melted chocolate then push into the mallow to secure the stick, chill on a plate.
Separate your chosen toppings into small dishes.
Once the sticks have set, remove them from the fridge. Melt the remaining chocolate in a dish until smooth and glossy, holding the stick swirl the marshmallow until it is covered, either just the end or entirely, then tap off the excess chocolate on the side of the dish, next dip it in the topping of your choice.
Oh and I used two upturned sundae dishes and a wire cooling rack to hold these whilst they set in the fridge.
Have fun dipping x
